COMMEMORATIVE AIR FORCE KICKS OFF WINGS OVER DALLAS WORLD WAR II AIRSHOW WITH AVIATION DISCOVERY DAY FOR LOCAL STUDENTS

September 10, 2019, Dallas – The Commemorative Air Force kicks off CAF Wings Over Dallas World War II Airshow Friday, Oct. 25, 2019, by inviting thousands of local students to an Aviation Discovery Day event. The airshow theme is the Pacific Theater. Some of the event highlights will include: • Living History – Reenactors will be recreating what daily life was like for soldiers during World War II, demonstrating the differences between life then and life today, and the tools, equipment and skills used to complete tasks.

• World War II Veterans – The veterans will be there to share their stories with the students. A veterans’ theater will offer ongoing first-hand experience talks by World War II veterans.

• Educational Activities – Students will participate in hands-on STEM, aviation and history-related activities including topics such as aerodynamics, aviation weather, riveting, aircraft tours, military vehicles, World War II military reenactors, and more. The CAF Wings Over Dallas WWII Airshow continues Oct. 26-27 at Dallas Executive Airport. Tickets are available at wingsoverdallas.org.

WHAT: CAF Wings Over Dallas Aviation Discovery Day An educational event for local students including living history reenactments, talks by World War II veterans and educational activities. ABOUT THE EVENT Now in its fourth year, the CAF Wings Over Dallas WWII Airshow continues to be the nation’s pre-eminent annual World War II themed airshow and military reenactment event. Flying demonstrations, flight line presentations, battle reenactments, veteran appearances and aircraft tours will provide hands-on opportunities for families and aviation history enthusiasts.
